MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

Working under the instruction of the Haulage Co-ordinator but reporting to the Site Manager, you will be required to ensure the Despatch Desk is run efficiently. Duties will include the accurate producing of Haulage Contractors paperwork and vehicle weighing as generated by the company's internal IT system. Regular contact with Hauliers Contractors will be essential, ensuring the allocated daily workload is executed in a timely manner, with Customer satisfaction and our business demands being fully executed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensuring that all booking and weighing information is correctly cross-referenced, producing an accurate record of events.
* Accurate information is produced for despatches from site.
* Checking of Legal Compliance with required legislation (ADR documentation)
* Providing the site rules and requirements to visiting Haulage Contractors.
* Working in conjunction with the Haulage Co-ordinator to satisfy the Site aspirations on despatches.
* Ensuring that all bookings are executed on a daily basis by regularly communicating with Haulage Companies.
* Ability to scrutinising the order book, ensuring that deliveries are made in the expected period, in conjunction with the Haulage Co-ordinator.
* Communicating on the telephone with Customers and Hauliers in polite and courteous manner
* Keeping records of communication in the appropriate section of the order profile (chaser notes).
* Accurately confirm dispatch detail on the IT system, following the return of the loading docket (pick list)
* Adhere to Policies and Procedures in relation to IT, Haulage and Business support.
* Any other reasonable request from your immediate Colleagues or Line Manager.

* A pro-active and can-do attitude is essential to satisfy the demands of this role.
* A well organised individual providing a first class service to our Customers and Hauliers.
* Accuracy with an "eye for detail" is essential
* An excellent and calm telephone manner.
* The ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
* Ability to work within a small team in the office environment.
* Proven ability working with PC applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.



Working hours - 7am - 17.00pm
Salary: 8.00 per hour
