My client prides itself on being the 'Employer of Choice' within the shipping industry and we have an exciting opportunity for an Import Trade Development Manger - Trans-Atlantic Trades to join the Import Commercial department. The successful applicant will manage the commercial team and maintain an operational overview of the Import Trade, ensuring adherence to the agreed Intermodal and Liner pricing strategy to achieve set Trade Budgets and to maintain the highest levels of Customer Service.
We believe the successful Import Trade Development Manger should have the following skills:

 Proven Supervisory ability

 Ability to manage deadlines

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Ability to undertake high level of computer analysis

 Must be able to demonstrate a good track record in negotiating up to Board level
The key tasks for the Import Trade Development Manger role are:

 Promote and maintain Sea Freight pricing policy in conjunction with company protocol and communicate this to internal and external Sales/Quotation staff.

 Set realistic Budgets with the organisation and if appropriate Overseas Agents and ensure they are achieved together with the UK Sales Team

 Maximise Market Share by knowing the competition and the current/potential customer base

 Provide reports, statistics and analysis to board members on all Trade matters

 Complete Intermodal analysis for the Trade and formulate appropriate action to maximise Contribution. Work with Sales Team, Logistics and Management to ensure accurate targeting of correct business

 Work closely with Import Customer Service Managers and staff to ensure "end-to-end" co-operation within Import Department and other Departments of the Company

 Supervise monthly Retention activity and support the Account Management within the Key Account Management programme

 Work closely with Quotation Team to develop and maintain rating systems to ensure prompt quotation and follow up to maximise bookings

 Promotion of active Target Account Programme

 Visit clients as and when needed to promote relationships and attract new business

 Closely observe deadlines and reporting as required by the Seniors/General Managers/Directors
