* Qualifications required:
* International CPC Transport Managers (Road Haulage) ESSENTIAL
* Personal Attributes:
* Dynamic leader who enjoys problem solving and is passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience.
* Willingness to build the department and business revenue through use of own initiative and full utilisation of fleet and drivers.
* Knowledge / Experience:
* Responsible for the efficient day to day operations of the transport department and effective management of a team of Traffic Planners and Operators.
* Efficiently manage a team of drivers, their 30+ vehicles and their daily workloads
* Ensuring compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures in respect of Company Policy, the Vehicle Standards Agency, FORS and Operators licence compliance.
* Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained, through our in-house Maintenance facility, serviced and repaired as necessary in a timely manner
* Maintaining accurate administrative records and reports and forwarding these as necessary to other departments and senior management
* Giving drivers a full debrief, including tacho analysis reporting and Working Time Directive compliance
* Organising and monitoring daily vehicle checks and responding promptly to any action required
* Excellent geographic knowledge of the UK & EU
* Experience required:
* Transport/ Logistics software eg Mandata/Stirling/Tom Tom Webfleet
* FCL/ LCL experience
* Full / Part loads / Groupage & Container shipment
* Same Day and/or Multi Drop Operations including Sub-Contractor management
* Possessing a good understanding of all relevant legal compliance and fleet controls.
* Experience of Budgets and Financial controls and good understanding of Microsoft Office
* Non-technical skills required:
* Excellent customer service
* Liaise with customer's clients & drivers
* Able to operate effectively in a high volume, service-driven transport operation.
* The role is commutable from Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire.
Salary: 50000 per annum
